Joined: Jan 08 2016. Location: Cambridgeshire. Hi, I need some advice about our 2007 C4 Grand Picasso auto petrol. When it changes gears it makes an awful banging sound. We have been told the gearbox oil needs topping up but I've read on here that you shouldn't need too. Any advice would be appreciated.
The latest brochure is dated September 2015 and only lists an EAT6 auto gearbox which is probably the latest name for your ETG6 one. A full auto is not listed. In a 12/2013 C4 brochure they had an EGS 6 speed semi auto box but also a 4 speed full auto but only on a petrol car.
Oh, and there’s a new engine and gearbox combination on offer. Namely a big 160bhp diesel with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, for peak big French car waft-ability. And peak big French car

Has your dealer had a proper inspection of the car. I think someone is getting confused between ETG6 Gearbox which is a semi automatic which went out of use by Citroen in late 2014 and early 2015 and is Italian, and the EAT6 Gearbox which is a full automatic and is of Japanese origin (Aisin Warner)

The car DID misbehave during a dealer test-drive. Citroen UK now acknowledge that there is a major problem, caused by the Stop & Start System ( Eco Mode) malfunctioning on all cars that have it.
