If you need a new controller, I would just get a ds4 controller. Get a ps5 controller when windows has official drivers. I have no problem connecting my ps5 controller with ds4, hell I've used it for 6 hours at a time. But every once in a while it will drop connectivity and my guy is stick twirling or moving forward.
it does work, you jus needa fiddle in Steam>Settings>Controller> Playstation Configuration support and maybe generic game pad. Brawlhalla on PC doesn't support DualSense natively, but Steam has External Gamepad Settings for Brawlhalla to enable compatibility for unsupported controllers, but they will only show Xbox button prompts.
