Under the hood of the 2024 Kodiaq will be a mild-hybrid 1.5 TSI engine with a seven-speed DCT making 150bhp as standard. A bigger 2.0-litre TSI with AWD and DSG producing 200bhp will also be on offer.Fuel Consumption - Economy Combined WLTP: Skoda Kodiaq 1.5 TSI Greentech ACT Business Edition Plus DSG (2019) vs Ford Kuga 2020 2.5 PHEV Titanium X (2019) vs Looking into buying the Kodiaq, my options are limited to: 1. 150 PS TSI DSG6 4WD. 2. 150 PS TDI DSG7 2WD. 3. 180 PS TSI DSG7 4WD. If I could get the TDI 4WD, there would be no dilemma, I'd get it. I"m afraid from the performance of the 1.4 TSI on the one hand and the fuel consumption of the 2.0 TSI from the other.

The 2.0-litre turbopetrol in the new RS fronts with 180kW and manages 370Nm from 1600-4300rpm. As an aside, the most powerful of Kodiaqs has a WLTP3-rated emissions figure of 190g/km, and so will be ‘fee neutral’ under the Clean Car scheme. And yet, the less grunty 132kW TSI, powering the Style and Sportline variants, is more gassy.

Fuel economy improvement is not noticeable compared to a diesel tune. On the latest run from Melbourne to Canberra and back, I averaged 7.2l/100km as opposed to 7.7-ish before the tune but simple wind direction or weather could explain that difference. This run is approx 6.5 hours at 110km/hr though rolling hills.6Ty6H.
